Platinum Personnel Solutions are looking for a Financial Analyst on behalf of our prestigious client based in Leiston Suffolk.

Our client is involved in the importation, marketing and sales of housewares, cleaning, beauty and products in both the UK and major export markets. They are a significant player in the industry.
Our client are part of a Group based in The Netherlands that specialise in sourcing, developing and distribution of non-food concepts for supermarkets, discounters, wholesalers, DIY stores and key retailers across Europe.
They have a substantial Warehouse in Leiston, Suffolk which is where they base their logistics and operations. They employee around 80 staff directly and have an excellent reputation in the local communities and with key industry partners.
Location: Based in Leiston
Job Types: Full-time (permanent)
Salary: circa £25,000 - £30,000 pa depending on experience and skills
Hours: 35 per week, 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday, plus a one hour daily unpaid lunch break – after initial induction, possibility to consider hybrid working options

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Financial Analyst you will primarily focus on providing support to the financial planning and analysis function. You will be playing an important role in supporting and influencing the senior leadership team to help them understand their financial position and use your expertise to support the operations of the finance team.
You will report to the Financial Controller supporting work undertaken for the General Manager and Group CFO.
As our clients Financial Analyst your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assisting in the preparation of management accounts (posting prepayments, fixed assets, accruals, petty cash, etc)
Preparing weekly/monthly cashflow, sales, margin reports and preparation of payment runs
Supporting the administration of the sales ledger, purchase ledger and credit control
Submitting and reconciling quarterly VAT returns (both GB and ROI), monthly Intrastat returns
Processing information for regular PowerBi updates (customer/products details, logistics costs calculation etc)
Collecting and entering data for various financial spreadsheets/reports (subdivision, marketing spends, etc)
Maintaining lease schedule (properties, corporate cars, forklifts, other equipment)
Maintaining insurance schedules and liaise with insurers
Auditing financial information
Participating in yearly audits
Liaising with HMRC, ROI Revenue and other government authorities in regards to any issues
Providing financial administrative support to all departments
Suggesting changes or improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and cost reductions
